Senior Trial Partner Peter T. Crean, Partner Anina H. Monte and Associate Stephen C. Lanzone moved for summary judgment in a case involving the alleged failure to appreciate and diagnose stercoral colitis in the plaintiff during several admissions to our client hospital. Motions for summary judgment were submitted on behalf of our client hospital, colon rectal surgeon, gastroenterology surgeon and general surgeons. Upon receipt of the motion, and consideration of the strengths off the defense case, plaintiff chose to not to oppose and instead discontinued the case with prejudice as to all defendants.
