Prior to joining MCB, Jeffrey operated his own defense law firm in New York. There, he defended clients against criminal prosecutions and government actions, while also gaining significant experience representing physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in disciplinary proceedings before the New York State Departments of Health and Education. His practice was informed by years of public service, including roles as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, an Assistant Attorney General for New York State, and Investigative Counsel for the Joint Commission on Public Ethics.
Collectively, these roles provided critical experience in all elements of the trial process, ranging from the drafting of criminal complaints and other legal documents to the conduct of investigations and preparation of witnesses. They also offered broad exposure to medical malpractice and disciplinary action scenarios, involving preparation of medical experts for trial and grand jury testimony; a deep understanding of HIPAA regulations; obtaining and analyzing records from clinicians, hospitals, and pharmacies; and optimizing use of patient files as evidence in trial settings.
Jeffrey received his B.S. from Syracuse University in 2005 and earned his J.D. from New York Law School in 2010. He is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
