Before joining MCB, Matthew defended physicians, medical practices, and hospitals at a New York firm with a primary focus on the healthcare industry. He managed cases through every stage of litigation, from conducting discovery and depositions to negotiating settlements and arguing in court. His comprehensive case management also included working with expert witnesses and preparing trial materials.

Prior to this position, Matthew was a senior associate attorney at a New York based litigation law firm specializing in insurance law. There, he defended transit and construction agencies, authorities, and contractors in personal injury and property loss claims. Specific responsibilities included discovery; drafting of legal documents including pleadings and motions; and making court appearances for motions and conferences.

Earlier still, Matthew served in various attorney roles for multiple firms, as well as the New York City Law Department. Specific practice areas over more than a decade ranged from trust and estate matters and administrative law to regulatory litigation and corporate compliance. Collectively, these experiences have cultivated thorough knowledge of the litigation process.

Matthew received his B.A. from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, SUNY in 1989. He earned his J.D., from Rutgers School of Law in 1993, receiving the American Jurisprudence Award in Contract Law.

He is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
