

Associate
Prior to joining MCB, Sophie served as an associate at a medical defense firm in the New York area. In this role, she managed cases, represented clients, and made court appearances for preliminary, compliance, status, and settlement conferences. Her responsibilities also included drafting discovery demands and responses; performing legal research; and conducting depositions. Sophie gained further experience as an associate at another New York law firm, where she represented clients in general liability matters. There she was responsible for drafting motions and discovery demands; conducting and defending depositions and settlements; and researching and analyzing key legal issues.
Sophie’s diverse legal experience also includes three years employment within the New York State Unified Court System. Most recently, she served as an arbitrator, where she conducted hearings, reviewed evidence, and drafted short-form decisions, including awarding damages and assessing interest. Before her arbitration work, she served as a senior attorney, representing clients with mental health diagnoses and developmental disabilities. In this capacity, she litigated cases in Bronx Supreme Court, drafted motions, conducted legal research, and prepared orders.
Earlier in her career, Ms. White honed her investigative and enforcement skills as an agency attorney at the New York City Commission on Human Rights. There, she investigated and enforced discrimination claims under various human rights laws; conducted intakes; drafted complaints and subpoenas; and conducted interviews. She also worked to ensure businesses created policies to protect their staff from discrimination.
Sophie earned her LLB (J.D. Equivalent)from Coventry University, United Kingdom in 2012, where she was recognized for her skills in debating and advocacy. She received her undergraduate foundation Law and Practice degree from Coventry University, United Kingdom in 2008. She is admitted to practice in New York.
