New Head of Labor & Employment Practice Group at MCB
Valerie K. Ferrier joins the Firm as a Partner and Head of the Firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, on June 17, 2019.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK, June 2019 – Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP is pleased to welcome a new Partner, Valerie K. Ferrier, as the Head of the Firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, where she will be defending claims against employers of all sizes in all areas of both state and federal court and administrative agencies. Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP’s Labor & Employment Practice Group counsels clients, defends claims and prepares contracts and policies involving a full range of employment issues.
Ms. Ferrier, an accomplished litigator, offers advice and counseling to clients to mitigate and manage risk. She counsels clients on compliance issues, in addition to providing handbook and policy updates and management and employee training. Ms. Ferrier has experience defending discrimination claims, including those brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the First and Fourteenth Amendments, and the New York State and City Human Rights Laws. Her practice includes the defense of wage and hour and misclassification claims, both single plaintiff and class and collective actions, under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law. Ms. Ferrier has successfully defended both state and federal jury and bench trials, and has experience with state and federal appellate practice. She represents a range of clients from small family-owned businesses to national chains and international companies.
