Daniel L. Freidlin
"One of the challenges in life is finding a rewarding career that does not grow stale. All too often, we settle for finding a job. This is not a job. Defending healthcare professionals against allegations of malpractice presents new challenges daily . We are either learning new medicine or applying old medicine to new facts. It is never boring, never repetitive and it certainly doesn’t hurt that we have the honor of representing some of society’s truest heroes."

A core tenet of our Firm’s client service philosophy is responsiveness, and Senior Trial Partner Daniel L. Freidlin takes this ideal to its highest level. Time and time again, his clients characterize him as being accessible, quick to respond, and thoroughly well-prepared. Hospital clients (whose hours are never 9-to-5) regularly find him replying to inquiries and requests almost immediately. A stickler for details, Daniel makes a point of knowing all the ins-and-outs of his current cases, and retains a virtually encyclopedic recall of his prior cases.

Daniel’s practice encompasses all areas of medical malpractice and product liability defense. He is also well-versed in general liability, professional liability, insurance law and electronic discovery. His 18+ years of experience include:

  • Extensive defense of health care professionals and hospitals in medical malpractice actions, from inception through trial, with emphasis on radiology, OBGYN, neurosurgery, and hospital malpractice cases.
  • Defense of major medical centers in mass tort litigation against claims involving hepatitis C/HIV transmission, neurosurgery, and alleged fraudulent billing.
  • Representation of various manufacturers in products liability litigation.

For two years, Daniel has been rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale- Hubbell®, their highest rating. He has been published in MD News, Inside Medical Liability, MLMIC’s newsletter, Dateline, as well as MCB’s newsletter, Defense Practice Update. He has presented to radiology malpractice programs for Lawline.com. At Hofstra University, he served as Research Editor for the Hofstra Law Review .

Daniel is an asset to the Firm in many other important ways, including as Chair of MCB’s Publications Committee; as member of the Firm’s Marketing Committee; and as a lecturer for MCB’s Continuing Legal Education programs.
